Maggie Grace was born Margaret Grace Denig, September 21, 1983. She is an American Actress best known as Shannon Rutherford in ABC TV series Lost. Following the divorce of her parents the actress left Worthington in Ohio and moved with her family in Los Angeles. Even though she had financial difficulties and in the beginning, she made her acting debut acting as Rachel's Room's main character. In the following year, she was awarded an Young Artist Award nomination in 2002, for her role as the 15 year old murder victim Martha Moxley in the television movie Murder in Greenwich. In 2004, Grace was selected to portray Shannon Rutherford in the television show Lost in which she acted as a principal character for the initial two seasons. She was also awarded a Screen Actors Guild Award shared by the entire cast. After leaving the show, Grace would like to be as a film actress, and had starred opposite Tom Welling in The Fog in 2005. In addition, she appeared as Kim Mills in Suburban Girl The Jane Austen Book Club (both 2007) and opposite Liam Neeson as Kim Mills in Taken in 2008. She reprised this role in Taken 2 (2013) and Taken 3 (2015). In addition, she played Alice in Malice in Wonderland which is a modern version of the Lewis Carroll novel Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Grace performed the role of Shannon on the final episode and two other episodes. She was in 2013 for Season 6 of Californication. The character she plays is Faith she is the muse and fan of the actors. Hank Moody as played by David Duchovny falls in love with her. She is part of the Gyllenhaal family and is the sister to Jake Gyllenhaal. As a teenager She appeared in small roles in her father's movies and she co-starred alongside her twin brother on Donnie Darko, a cult classic. Later, she was in Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind as well as Mona Lisa Smile (both 2002). The leading roles of Gyllenhaal in Secretary, a romantic comedy-drama erotico, and Sherrybaby (a drama) earned her nominations for Golden Globe Award. Following several commercially-successful films, including World Trade Center in 2006 her fame grew for her role as Rachel Dawes (the superhero) in The Dark Knight (2007). The year 2009 was the time she was nominated as the Best Supporting Actress at the Oscar Awards for her performance of a single mom in Crazy Heart. After that she continued to star in comedies and dramas like Nanny McPhee And The Big Bang (2010) Hysteria (2011) as well as Won't Back Down (12). The other roles she played were a Secret Service agent in the action thriller White House Down (2013) and a musician in Frank (2014) as well as The title role in the film The Kindergarten Teacher (2018). Gyllenhaal's debut as a director and writer took place in 2021, with The Lost Daughter, a psychological drama for which she received the Venice International Film Festival Best Screenplay Award. In addition, she was awarded an Academy Award nomination for Best Adapted Screenplay.
