Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson born to British lawyers Jacqueline Luesby & Chris Watson in Paris, France. At the age five she relocated from London to Oxfordshire where she attended the Dragon School. Emma's dream was to become an actor. As a young girl of 6, she enrolled in the Oxford Stagecoach Theatre Arts branch in which she was taught classes in acting, singing and dance. She had already performed in a variety of Stagecoach or school shows by the time she was 10 years old. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2000) the film adaptation of J.K. Rowling's bestselling British book was cast in the year 1999. Casting agents found Emma via her Oxford theatre instructor. After eight auditions consistently, producer David Heyman told Emma and fellow applicants Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint that they had been selected to play the three main characters Hermione Granger Harry Potter and Ron Weasley. Emma's debut film came with the release of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2002). It was the highest-grossing film of 2001 The film broke records for its opening day opening and opening weekend takings. Critics were impressed with the film and its performance. The Daily Telegraph, an influential British publication, described Emma's performances "amazing". Emma received five nominations for her exceptional performance. Then, she was awarded the Young Artist Award in Leading Young Actress of an Film.
